Horse Journal Field Trial -Great Cooling Leg Wraps

Gel-packs and ice cell cooling beat crushed ice hands down. On a warm day crushed ice lasts 20 to 30 minutes.  Gel-packs and ice-cells extends the time from 45 minutes up to an hour. 

Nothing beats cold therapy for rapid control of pain, heat and swelling.  A hard work out, competition or race can strain a horse's leg.  Reduce post work out ailments by using cold therapy. Ask your Vet.  When an injury occurs, ice is usually the first recommendation. 

Nerve damage can be caused by extreme cold. Leg wraps can prevent this by providing a thin layer between the horses's leg and the ice.               

The EZ Ice products can be use as heat boots too.  Horse Journal said EZ Ice had one of the best leg wraps.  It conformed beautifully to the leg, provided excellent cooling, and was lightweight.

Hi Mary Lou - One of our hounds was bitten smack on the tip of his nose by a pygmy rattlesnake, which swelled his muzzle up to the size of a baseball, constricting his breathing. While waiting for the drugs to take effect, I draped EZ ICE around his muzzle and really felt it helped both in restricting the flow of the venom and in taking down the swelling. The size and texture were comfortable for him, where ice would have been too cold and awkward. I have the 2 EZ ICE Neck Collars in the kennels and use them both. I always re-chill one while the other one is being used. The hound (Benchmark) survived and is fine. I saw my pony hit a rail at a horse show and come out of the ring dead lame. We used a Hock and Universal Wrap to Ice her hind leg. Twenty minutes later we went back into the ring and won the next jumping class. I knew my product was made for a situation like this.  It made my day to be at a Horse Show in New Smyrna Beach, FL where we started the company and saw the results of using EZ ICE
